Fall is here so get snuggly with your sweetheart on one of these local fun Fall date adventures!

Day or night, this rural ranch is open (Every Day, October 1-31, 10am-7pm) to pumpkin seekers of all ages. Stop for lunch or dinner at the family-owned Boccali’s Pizza & Pasta Restaurant just a short distance from the pumpkin patch for some homemade Italian dining inside or al-fresco. FYI: They only accept cash or check payments so come prepared. It really is a peaceful, beautiful place to spend an afternoon or evening. For a longer date, shop downtown Ojai (just 2 miles away) in the afternoon and enjoy a game of tennis at the famous Libby Park courts then head to the restaurant located at 3277 Ojai-Santa Paula Road, Ojai, California  93023 (805) 646-6116 open 7 days a week, Monday - Tuesday 4 - 9 p.m. & Wednesday - Sunday, 12 - 9 p.m. Also note, on October 14,15, 21,22,28, & 29 the pumpkin patch goes haunted after dark on Fridays and Saturdays from 7-9pm. Great food, wholesome fun, and a lot of opportunities to hold hands while taking in the best of thee season.

From experience, we can recommend a relaxing evening of cooking demonstrations, free tea, food tasting, and in-store discounts at SpiceTopia. Located at 576 E. Main St., Ventura, CA 93001 SpiceTopia is a foodie/gourmet’s dream offering free samples of several of their locally produced products. They also sell lots of spices and loose-leaf teas you can scoop yourself. Whether you are into cooking or not, you’ll be sure to enjoy tastes of the menu creations by professional Chef Amy as she provides recipes and insider tips before your eyes. You’ll have the opportunity to ask questions and afterwards buy items used in the meal prep demo at discounted prices. It is a very small group setting and most comfortable and laid back. A $35 class fee includes a complete recipe book, the two hour class and sampling of all the dishes on that evening’s menu. Each class begins promptly at 6:30 pm and ends at 8:30. Next one is October 20th.  Check their website for other dates and menus.

Another experience we can recommend from experience is Downtown Ventura Food Tasting Tours. If you like food and a laid back stroll downtown, you’ll like this leisurely tour. The tour lasts 3 hours and 30 minutes and takes you to six different locations in downtown Ventura. The price includes all taxes and tips plus wine tasting for just $59 per person. This doesn’t mean you have to do away with the DJ--an experienced MC can be a great asset to assist with your event schedule,
