Memorable (and Affordable!) Group Gifts from Bridesmaid to Bride

Your best girlfriend is getting married and you want to give her something memorable but don’t have a lot of extra cash. Never fear. . . VW is here! We’ve got three great ideas you can give individually or as a group gift from all her favorite gals in the bridal party.

Memory Book Moments
Sort of a cross between a yearbook and a best friend roster, create a memory book with the bridal lineup. Include pictures of each girl with fun facts and specific memories involving their best bud bride. You could also include a thoughtful note, funny story, or encouragement on her upcoming marriage. Also be sure to select some great photos of you together to include on themed pages such as “road trips,” “parties & holidays,” and “the good old days.” Just to name a few ;) . There are plenty of photo book companies out there to choose from, offering soft cover or hardcover books such as Shutterfly, Snapfish, and Mixbook. Before placing your order, be sure to check for deals or coupon codes on the company website. Right now, an 8x8 inch 20 page hardcover memory book is only $28.99 from Snapfish!
$12.80 on etsy. Find it here.

How Charming!
What woman doesn’t like jewelry? Especially jewelry with a unique story put together with love by her best buds. A charm bracelet with hand-selected charms chosen by her bridal party will surely make her smile. Select a bracelet with charms, or another meaningful piece such as a gold chain with 3, 4, 5 (# of friends) hearts, from a wide variety of online stores like etsy. I just ordered this cute piece(pictured above) on etsy for only $13! If you have a little extra money buy one for each gal to wear at the wedding. Way more mature but just as cool as the best friends necklaces we wore in fourth grade!

Love and Encouragement the Whole Year Through
Aww, this one can be sweet, sassy, spicy, silly, or sentimental. Include small items, quotes, photos, tickets, gift cards, whatever with a message to go along with each one. Wrap each individually and label them by month if you so choose. For example, a bottle of hot sauce with a reminder to spice things up a bit in the kitchen or bedroom?? A giftcard for a manicure to lift her spirits or add a splash  of color to her day. A box of candy to encourage her to do something sweet for her hubby. Get creative and have fun with it. Present all twelve of your gifts to her in one big box and go in with all the girls on this one to create a homemade gift she will never forget!

How and When to Announce Your Engagement

Now that he’s planned all the romantic details of how to propose and has successfully swept you off your feet, your fiancé can breathe a sigh of relief. . . or can he???!? If your parents have never met your future spouse, this can be an extreme source of anxiety. As parents, siblings, and close family are usually the first to hear the news of your engagement, it would be helpful to introduce him into conversations, prompting questions and opportunities to share more about him before bringing him over for a visit. Once you are all familiar, then you can feel reassured of you happy news being received more warmly, instead of it being a complete shock. For brides who have been married before and who have children it is important that your children and ex are informed first. After sharing the news with your parents and immediate family, most etiquette sources suggest calling relatives and close friends who live further away next. They also suggest calling anyone who
