Evening Wedding Ceremonies

Check out Evening Weddings at Mill Rose Inn in Half Moon Bay, CA for Evening Wedding Inspiration!

Evening weddings are a wonderful option to consider especially in warm summer months where the heat can leave guests wishing they were poolside instead of sweaty and sunburnt at a wedding. Been there, done that! In addition to the cooler temperature you and your guests will appreciate the additional time to get dressed and prepared for the wedding. You wont have to wake up in the wee hours of the morning for hair and makeup or worry about rushing around to get everything done before a noon or afternoon wedding start. You also wont have to worry about your makeup melting off your face in the heat or trying to keep cool in your beatiful dress! Your future husband and his buddies will likely appreciate it too as coats and formal wear can get quite warm.

Speaking of attire, it is traditionally expected that evening events are more formal and don’t typically include small children. All these are pluses if you have been dreading how to politely request your cousin leave her screaming brood with a sitter, or if you have a wild aunt Betty whose usual summer attire consists of flip flops and tube tops.

More guests are able to attend evening events. Busy summer days are spent running around on family trips to the beach or sporting events with evenings free for relaxing and partying at your awesome evening wedding! Family and friends who have hired sitters will likely stay to the very end of the event and be able to enjoy themselves the whole night through.

Lastly, evening weddings have a special mood that daytime weddings just can’t replicate. Romantically lit with candles, an enchanted evening under tree boughs strung with twinkle lights can provide a dramatic backdrop for your wedding. And, sparklers and fireworks make for a fun send off under a starry sky. Just remember, lighting is key in creating the mood you desire at night.

Evening weddings are an awesome alternative to afternoon weddings, creating the opportunity to offer snuggly blankets to guests, dance the night away under the stars, create romantic and intimate spaces for guests to enjoy, and to celebrate in style and comfort at an adult event.

Sleep in, relax, and party on! Much love, VW.

How and When to Announce Your Engagement

Now that he’s planned all the romantic details of how to propose and has successfully swept you off your feet, your fiancé can breathe a sigh of relief. . . or can he???!? If your parents have never met your future spouse, this can be an extreme source of anxiety. As parents, siblings, and close family are usually the first to hear the news of your engagement, it would be helpful to introduce him into conversations, prompting questions and opportunities to share more about him before bringing him over for a visit. Once you are all familiar, then you can feel reassured of you happy news being received more warmly, instead of it being a complete shock. For brides who have been married before and who have children it is important that your children and ex are informed first. After sharing the news with your parents and immediate family, most etiquette sources suggest calling relatives and close friends who live further away next. They also suggest calling anyone who
