Fall 2015 Wedding Ideas & Inspiration

Here it is: our Fall 2015 Wedding Ideas and Inspiration Board! This season we elected for a colorful palette rather than a muted one that reflects the bounty and bold beauty of nature, as you can see by color selections: Celosia Orange (ah pumpkins and spice and everything nice), Cream (classic and lovely), Emerald(gorgeous green), and Marsala (the wine grapes harvest has begun!). If you are interested in other color palette suggestions try TheWedding Paper Diva’s: Wedding Colors—Inspiration by Season article—it’s great!

We love the idea of a cream colored wedding dress for Fall 2015. We found this gorgeous vintage cap sleeve wedding dress in cream and like the elegant delicate details of the pearly buttons and lace covered back and sleeves (Found on cherrymarry.com). This dress provides more coverage with the see-through lace back and sleeves (sooo sexy) without being overly concealing or stuffy. From the front, this dress looks tailored, comfortable, and flowing for nice movement down the aisle and in the Fall breeze with enough length to combat the cooling weather of the season (for outdoor weddings this is a plus!) but not so much fluff that you trip over it on the dance floor.
Earrings, Nail Polish, Necklace, Boots

Instead of pairing this spectacular dress with the expected open-toed high heel, be different and daring with a pair of boots in a shade of Marsala (Pantone’s color of the Year for 2015). High heel or no heel, the pop and unexpected style will make a statement (sophisticated country maybe?)
More Bridesmaid Dresses! Image 1, Image 2

To come along-side the unique cream-colored gown, we picture bridesmaid’s dresses in a variety of colors (like the image above) or in different shades of one of our inspired palette colors. Bridesmaids like to sparkle too, so a pop of color in your jewelry selection or nail polish color could add some pizazz to a bold color dress (pair the Celosia nail color with a bold orange dress) or a bold color pop of Marsala with a more muted shade of the same color.  Remember, other accessories-shoes, clutches, and bridesmaid’s bouquets can also be used to showcase our colorful palette selections.
Cake & Bouquet, Table Setting

We found sooo many beautiful bouquet and table setting ideas we picked just a couple to share with you. This bouquet includes every color in the palette plus one, pink! The baby’s breath is a great flower that mimics the color and texture of the lace in our wedding dress selection. The bold, big, and beautiful peony flower is definitely a VW fav for 2015 and the orange wrap around the green stems is a daring yet simple touch. Marvelous! Our favorite table setting has great rustic touches, pops of color, charming honey guest favors, and natural elements layered throughout. The moss, simple rustic wood flower boxes, and small bunches of flowers reflect their environment and the festive colors of the Fall season without appearing overly grand, busy, or ostentatious.

We love the colors, texture, and material/environmental harmony of our Fall 2015 selections and how they augment the beauty of the season. Get inspired and share your favorite items and ideas with us in the comments below.

How and When to Announce Your Engagement

Now that he’s planned all the romantic details of how to propose and has successfully swept you off your feet, your fiancĂ© can breathe a sigh of relief. . . or can he???!? If your parents have never met your future spouse, this can be an extreme source of anxiety. As parents, siblings, and close family are usually the first to hear the news of your engagement, it would be helpful to introduce him into conversations, prompting questions and opportunities to share more about him before bringing him over for a visit. Once you are all familiar, then you can feel reassured of you happy news being received more warmly, instead of it being a complete shock.
